how to tell what is fried? - 10.02.2007, 09:31 PM

hey guys i was drivin my rc18 a little while ago and everything was pretty warm (esc was hot but not too hott to touch it. motor was getting HOTT.. could not touch it without burning finger and the battery as usual was barely warm. now i know my gearing is messed up but i just didnt care for now. well i was done with my run cause of the heat issue and went to unplug the battery and saw smoke... so i quickly took off the battery and took off the top.
from the looks of what i saw i thought the servo board blew out (didnt know this was even possible) and so i was pretty happy it wasnt the ESC
but after letting everything cool down i turned the truck on and the esc works fine (if i give it gas it turns green) but it just stays a constant red the whole time.

also i opend up the servo to see if it was blown and there was no yellow residue and it didnt smell fried at all.

im guessing i blew the motor? if so im actually quite delited because this just gives me an excuse to buy a nicer motor

how can i tell if the motor is blown? and if its not the motor how do i tell what is?

wow i hope that made sence. i think i was talking too fast for my writing and probably made alot of things confusing.

but anyways

thankS!
