Quick Lipo matching Question - 10.09.2007, 10:08 PM

I ordered two 3s 4000hv maxamps packs. But since 6s is too much for my 8xl, and 3s is too little, can I do this:

Buy a 2s 4000hv maxamps pack, and run it in series with the 3s 4000hv pack, making it essentially a 5s2p 8000hv pack? Or will this result in a problem?

Also, how much runtime do you think I would get from a 8000mah Lipo?

Thanks!!

Yes it will be a big pack and you'll need a bunch of connectors - Just make sure they are all matched voltages when you connect them...

What truck are they in? A good 20-30 mins I would think...

If you run a 2s 4000 in series with a 3s 4000 you will end up with a 5s 4000. You only have 5 cells to work with. Now if you had 2 of each pack you could wire up a 5s2p as you would have 10 cells to work with.

Ah yes my bad, it would be a 5s 4000hv pack.... anyway, that wouldn't give me very much runtime.

I'll just stick with my a123 in my Emaxx for now.... and keep the lipos for my Rusty.

Thanks guys.
