Great looking truck you got there, and VERY light weight too. My only recommendation is to get a RCM heatsink on the motor, but other than that, awesome job!!
Orion makes 4800's in a silver case. I think they are 2s2p packs, because the one that I saw puff up yesterday looked like it had 4 cells in it. I didn't look that closely, I was trying to keep my distance from it.
Jnev, heatsink + ship to canada comes to almost the same price as the motor... lol + it doesn't run too hot with my set-up... I also have an 8xl but doesn't sees much runtime.
Squeeforever, I did run my custom made single speed for a while but since I have the smaller tires I like to be able to just change gears when I run my other regular maxx sized tires. I just realised I have to change the dual servos in my description, cause I put pack my shifting servo...
drkros3, your right they dont make 4s, they are 2s1p but I right down 4s cause I have 2 in series, so it's 4s total. I also have some bigger packs from maxamps for more runtime. but for pictures you can't beat these orion...and yes there quite expensive, 100$ each
Serum, I know these al. screwz are sh#@$t, probably going to take them out soon, looks good and saves about 40 total but isn't worth the assle of stripping them way to often + the blue in them is all different from one to another, really bad product!
Glad you like the body, plain and simple as i'm not a good artist + I screeded my carbon fiber look paint job by putting to tick of a coat! :O(
anyway's sorry for the long response but it's to show I appreciate the comments...
This forum is one of my reference cause around here where I live people Run mostly Nitro, I know more about Brushless set-ups than the hobby shop guys! AND I don't know that much...
Working on:
Twin CF GorillaMaxx (8S motors on 2x2slipo)
2WD AL. GorillaMaxx (7lbs with batteries)
Serum, very nice truck!
That's 6.8lbs Without batteries I presume?? Mine is actually 6.4lbs without batts, with 4 shocks, no shifting servo and internals for 1st gears remove from tranny but that's with the very light komodos.
Is that a basic or basic xl motor in there? Yeah about the 4 shocks I actually do run it like that when I race.
How did you manage to run the stock sliders? that must be a really good slipper.... what king is that? looks custom to me?
I'm also waiting for the new extended maxx body to come out, I can save around 50-80g there as my baja body is really heavy...
