Quark questions, mainly 6s performance - 12.04.2007, 12:53 AM

Was wondering why most seem to think that the quark is only good for 5s lipo and not 6s as the spec say. Is it due to the poor heatsinking or the internal components (fets, etc)?

I only ask I have a quark 125 air esc that I would like to use with a 1600 kv or so motor with mech brakes in one of my lsp truggies. Not using the esc brakes should take some of the load of the esc, possibly keeping the heat down?

Just wondering what the general concenseus on this is. I can always give it a try, and if it fries it will get returned!

Hi Linc,

How's it going?

It's been my experience with the Quark, that on 6S, it tends to cog more on startup. At least with batteries fresh off the charger. Into the run, as voltage comes down some, it tends to behave better on startup.

The Capacitor mod does seem to help this. I've noticed a big improvement on 6S compared to "un-modded".

If it thermals, that has to do with your motor drawing too many amps for too long a period of time as a result of high gearing or too high a kv motor, etc. Not necessarily your battery arrangement.

A lower kv motor should perform well on 6S through a Quark.

In thinking about this, I was usually using a setup that was more suited to 4S, but just thought I would switch to 6S to "see what it would do".

"Pimpin' for Parts"

I like that, very funny!

Well, I was single for quite a while before I met my wife, and got to know most of the women from 17-35 years old. So I now know all of these chics and I can't do anything with them anymore. So I figured that I could help out my single friends! Heres a pic of the girl, and yours truly in my evening attire!
