Brushless install questions. - 07.29.2005, 12:13 AM

I just got my mgm 8012 in today (used from a guy in another forum, Mike was out of stock) and I am getting ready to install it and my feiago 8s into my rustler. I have a couple of install questions:

1.) Can I bend the leads on the motor so they face the direction of the controller?

2.) If it doesn't reach can I put some short leads in between the leads from the controller and the motor?

3.) What else should I do pryor to turning it on.

4.) How is programing on this controller? Easy or Hard to do?

1) Yes, just don't bend thema round alot. 2) Yes, I have had to do this myself. 3) Make sure you have everything installed correctly, check gear mesha and anything else of concern. 4) I don't know what the MGM's are like but with my Warrior I had to get on here because of the poor directions.

mgm state in their instructions that they are plug and play, so
no real programming needs to be done if you are using micad/ nimh.

If you want to change the settings on this controllor, it may take a couple of goes to get used to the programming, but otherwise it is straightfoward. If you did not get instructions buying 2nd hand go here mgm compro
click on manual left top hand corner of screen

Try not to lengthen the leads as this will increase resistance. You want them short where possible. Looking at the traxxas website it looks like you should have enough room to fit the controllor close enough.

Also,
- Check loose screws
- adjust slipper clutch before going WOT
- check that contols are oreinted right way (L and R; rev, fwd)
- watch temps on your motor too
