Serpent VS Mugen - 01.22.2008, 12:17 PM

I want to make a 1/8 scale on road conversion and I've been studying this convesion for over a year now and I came to the resolution that I am ready to do it. But, which rout should I go? There are three major manufacturers that excelled in this area. One is Serpent the Other is Mugen and the third is Kyosho.

All three cars are equally competitive( they're the only ones competing at the track, actually), but I've read several times in other forums that the Mugen MRX-4 is very durable and robust in comparison to the other two. Also, the Kyosho and the Serpent seem a bit overpriced ( and espicially the Kyosho) and both the Serpent, and the Kyosho are short in spare parts in most online stores.

I don't know why, but I have feelings towards the Mugen.

Here are the pics and please vote for the one you'd rather to convert.

The serpent, all the way.

I had a mugen buggy and a serpent onroad; the serpent is ticking like a swiss watch. it's unbelievable precise made.

I don't know is this forum gives you an uncoulored pol though, since most of the crowd only know Mugen for their buggies, and don't know serpent at all.

this is the 08 serpent.

Simple look at the rear sway-bar of the serpent; it's using bearings, and it's made of the flat bars, which can be adjusted fair easy. the upper front arm bulk; well machined aluminum; the center drive-thingy (where the two belts come together) that's aluminum too, if they sell it for the same price (like they do) i would take the serpent without a doubt.

I would go with serpent, I had a F-180 and it was sweet, very high quality.
