Quick Tip - 08.05.2005, 01:46 PM

After soldering many packs and being around the brushless world for a while, I figured it was time to step it up to 7 cells:L: . Now since I usualy use my deans speed jig this posed a problem, since I had no easy way to solder, and I couldn't use my hands to do it.

So after some masking tape, a big rubber band, and two piece's of wood (in this case cut off hockey sticks) I came up with something. ohh, not to forget the help of my vice. Hopefully this will help someone else out, I dunno, I just thought it was a neat little idea. Don't mind the dumpy cells, they're old sanyo 2400's, soldering up a bigger pack to run in the little brothers Radio Shack:D

You got to do what you have to do some time. I took a hot glue gun held the cells together until i got them soldered and heat shrinked. That works as well.

Peace!

I just taught myself how to solder my packs. I have 3 duratrax 3000nimh, 2 radio shack 3000nimh and a duratrax 1700nicd. you want to know the scary part. the radio shack packs are better than the duratrax

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

It works alright, although soldering with the Deans jig is extremely easy. The cells turned about to be a tad to old anyway, started making a bubbling sound while charging, so I trashed them.
