Time to buy Lipos !!!! - 03.11.2008, 06:30 PM

Ok, well things are progressing and I need to get some batts on order. I have the GR2 and will also have a homebuilt . Right now I have the MM and a 9XL but plan to buy the MMM and another motor when the MMM finally comes out , so the batts need to work with both. I think I've decided on running a pair of these ..

Good Lipo's ???
Not sure on the gearing as of yet since I'm palying around with a center diff design. Any tips ? Thanks !! Jerry

Spend the money and buy Trakpowers instead...much better cells and a hard case to boot.

The power would be comparable, but the runtime will be less.

I thought the maxxamps were the good ones ? I mean, it's only 20 bucks more for the other ones but more money for less runtime ? Are they really that much better ? Thanks !

Can't comment on the 6000s from maxamps personally, but I havent heard the greatest things about them. I remeber a few folks having issues with them, but that may have been to older 6000 cells. I dont know.

I can tell you that the TrakPower packs are made from enerland cells and are argueably the best cells available.

The 0610i is a better charger IMO. It's more powerful so you can charge higher cell counts without having to drop the current to fall under the 50W cap on the 0606i.

Also, be sure and check out the new Trakpower 3S 4900mAh packs that will be out very soon. You can check out some info on them in this thread:

Well, thanks !!! I will order up my trakpowers on friday . Also need a few more things from Mike, so will do it all at once.
Is there a better charger with built in balancer ? I used to use the cellpro from FMA when I tried helis for all of about 10 minutes lol !! That was a very nice and easy charger to use.
I still have my ICE from before and can add the trakpower balance to it if thats the best way . I know it will work that way, but is there better ? Within reason of course, nothing like a turbo 30 !! Thanks again for all the help . Jerry
