Covering up 2200kv Tork breath holes?

Someone in another forum is stating I should seal up the holes in the front of my Flux Tork motor to keep stuff from getting inside and ruining the motor. I'm under the impression those are designed for air flow for the Tork and sealing them up would be a very good way to overheat my motor.

Whats your take on this Castle?

To be honest, looks like regular mounting holes, but I'm not sure how that's setup.

naaa....the amount of dirt that will get in there wont do much.
if you wanted to you can...but they are NOT a sorce of airflow ;)

Just make a smallround lexan plate and drill 3 holes in it, then mounts the plate on the motor and use 3 screws or so to do it.

Torq motors are weird :P

neu motors have huge openings on the ends of the can and most here cover them both up. as long as you gear correctly and monitor temps the first few runs, you will be fine

So are they dedicated breathing holes or are they just left over mounting spots that air/dirt/dust can get in?

They are just mounting holes -- they are there for non-HPI installations. (HPI sells the torque motor separately.)

Thank you Pat, so i'm not slowly destroying my Tork by leaving them open to the air to suck in dust? Their covered up behind by the endbell cover? Sorry, I just don't wanna screw this up, I just want to prolong the life of my Tork motor either way.

i think there is the only question on the savy flux is the location of the motor because don´t get much air to run fresh.... but because is the famous 2200kv mamba one maybe it don´t make any problem!!

If it's like the castle motor they should be blind holes, meaning they bottom out
