MMM V3 RX wires dislodged themselves - 07.15.2009, 10:15 PM

Hey guys. I was going out to run my truck, just driving the truck down my hallway to go outside to drive for a bit. All of the sudden, full throttle. I ran as fast as I could to disconnect the battery. The MMM case just fell open, no torque applied to it to get it to come apart. The RX wires have been yanked out of their little tabs on the board. I'm not going to try to repair this myself, although I was thinking about it. I popped the case back together so no pics. I have no idea what could have happened, maybe one came loose and the others dislodged in the collision against my hall wall?! Will castle cover this for me? I did not intentionally open the case ever, and only modification I did was remove the switch. The MMM does not smell burnt at all. Thanks...

Sent CC an email:

Hello CC.

I was preparing for a tun today with my brushless hyper ST pro. All was well for about a minute, then uncontrollable full throttle. I rushed to unplug the battery and got rugburn on my arm in the process from the tire. When the truck was unplugged, the case was popped open and the 3 wires leading to the RX were ripped off of the board. ESC was behaving normally, and then this freak accident. No torque was applied to the wires or MMM itself, so I'm not sure how this happened. The ESC does not smell burnt or look strange in any way. Is it possible for you to warranty repair this item? I am the original owner, and this is a V3 ESC purchased from holmeshobbies.com. The RX wires are not pulled when mounted. Only modification I've done to the ESC is remove the switch, which broke months ago. I have not had any problems with this ESC before, and really like it. I did not attempt to repair the ESC myself, but when the case was opened from the accident the solder job on those 3 wires in particular looks like it was done by a 5 year old. (not good). I did not buy this ESC used, nor ever open the case before so it is not possible the wires have been soldered by anyone except the factory. This ESC has always been run on 6S lipo with a medusa 36/70/1600 motor if that matters. Is it possible for you all to warranty the ESC for me? I will not take any action until I hear back from you. I am located in the USA so no intl. shipping is needed.
Thanks for your help and consideration-
Ian

Just spoke to Thomas on the phone. He says that I can send it in and more than likely it will be a standard warranty repair.
