I was looking on the large scale section of RCU, and came across this completely custom 1 off 1/5 electric build. Some of the best CNC machining I have ever seen, and one of the biggest Lehner motors I have ever seen. Check it out - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8867256/tm.htm

Anyone wanna take a guess on the weight of that thing is? This is one of those build that when you think you've made something awesome you find out that you've just been one-upped.

That thing is pretty sick looking, Must be nice owning your own CNC machines ?

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Browsed his site. Lazy link for google translated version. It looks like it'll be both. Hes got quite a few hop ups for sale and he is also selling the custom 1/5th scale. It also says hes planning on taking the 1/5th scale to competitions this year, so I think we'll see the whole thing soon. The main site mentioned an offroad in development as well!

Yo, that is some sick machining skills he has got... or shall I say, CAD skills.

That thing is more of a work of hard than anything else... can anyone say HEAVY.

That thing is AMAZING! I wish I had access to a CNC and CAD like that. Id be in my cave making crap 24/7

ok what up with the 6 motor wires w/ triangle connections? 2 different wiring option top/bottom?

i have guesses but not sure.

Brushless motors can be wired in two ways, star or delta. Most every motor does this internally, but some lehners do it externally so you can choose the wind you want yourself. The different configurations affect motor kv so you can suit it to your application. The 6 poles are wired in star with 3 leads out or joined with 3 sets of 2 poles so you still have your familiar 3 wire hookup.

The link is ingenious because it uses a simple screw to hold the pivotball instead of the much more complicated way most attach them.
