Usps is not tracking my package - 10.10.2009, 02:35 AM

Hello, I received a mail from usps with a tracking number on
*October 06th 2009 but it always write:

*There is no record of this item.

Order ID: 10015257

is it normal or could it be a problem with the package?

*

The strange thing is that it is the first time of all my ships, that cannot track and that another mine usps shipping in these days was trackable soon. Is it possible that any packages Are trackable and any not? If so I only have to wait it will arrive

You could try calling them... Maybe their internal servers have more up-to-date records.

Sometimes USPS tracking is good and sometimes not so good. My last one from RCM got here before the tracking showed any record. If you ordered from RCM and got the click-n-ship notification, rest assured it is on the way quickest possible route.

Had the same issue just this week... I got the delivery confirmation number from usps and for whole week the status was "there is no record of this item"...
Even though item has been the delivered, the status is still "there is no record of this item".

Last month usps 'Tracking' showed that an item was deliver to 33166, but the confirmation does not include the actual address (not even a record of the signer
on the receipt). The package was not delivered to my address... When we contacted usps (by phone), they told us a name on the receipt that was not on the list
people we have signing for items at that location (BTW, the 'location' is mail box I use in Miami). We still can't find out from them the actual address that is was
delivered at, and i still can't get any help from the merchant to get it back.

I really think they should improve their methods... it sucks when you loose something in 'mail'.

The package is arrived today, but usps does not track it yet.
Now I know for the future that if the package is not trackable does not mean that is a problem.

I'm waiting on something from Tampa, FL. The seller called me Thursday morning after he had sent the package and gave me the tracking number. The first time USPS acknowledged that the package existed was today, 2 days later as it was mailed. This was as the package was leaving the Tampa processing facility on the 9th which was yesterday.

I get packages all the time where the tracking still says there is no record for that tracking number. This system is too dependent on various mail personnel at various points to actually scan the package into the system.

USPS is frustrating for shipping anyway. I prefer to let them handle my bills, junk mail and credit card offers while I let people who own box trucks deliver my packages, they aren't perfect either, but USPS is dizzyingly annoying when it comes to shipping and tracking.

I use USPS then over to Canada Post for ALL of my packages, if I can. I have never used anyone else, but UPS will charge you "made up" duty fee's, and as I understand it with fed ex your lucky if the package even shows up. USPS has never let me down, knock on wood. I can see how packages get lost, but then I also believe they should have a no questions asked refund policy.

i had the good fortune to spend some time( 3 seasons) working in the US in the snow industry a few years ago.upon first arriving in LA i was warned that usps was average incase i wanted to send anything back here to New Zealand.i took the chance and have continued to do so with ebay items and have had simular happenings mentioned in previous thread posts,no tracking, item not existing and so on and to my surprise the packages showed up.my recent rcm order tho is a new one.the tracking showed the item being picked up,sent to mail house then departing New York, there the trail goes cold and that was a week ago.am still hopeful that my motor mount and pinions show.

I have had this problem as well and was told that the number is a delivery confimation number and there is no way of assuring the item will scanned before it is delivered and that it is to be used to confirm delivery not to track items. but it sucks how hard is it to scan when they receive it at the first sorting facility.

I am supposed to have a package coming from HC. Starting to get a little worried here. Most of the time, Express only takes a few days.

According to this tracking information, the plane crashed or something.

NO Scans inside the United States.

Your item left HONG KONG AIR MAIL CENTRE, HONG KONG on October 10, 2009. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Detailed Results:

Foreign International Dispatch, October 10, 2009, 10:54 pm, HONG KONG AIR MAIL CENTRE, HONG KONG
Foreign Acceptance, October 10, 2009, 9:16 pm, HONG KONG
Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

Strange thing is:

About the time this was shipped, the USPS site kept saying "Down for system upgrades"

Anyone else experience anything like this?
