losi vs xray wheel nuts - 03.12.2010, 02:29 PM

I got a used Xray XT8 for Xmas and I just have it nearly running, all the electrics is sorted and mt Associated plastic spur has finally arrived but I have 1 problem, it came with wheels but no wheel nuts, I got some 17mm thunder tiger wheel nuts from the LHS but the threads are too fine, and I tried the nuts from my hot bodies buggy but there threads are too fine too which leaves me in a bind i could order up some Xray wheel nuts but they are £10 = $15 a set and a set is only 2 so I would be paying £20 = $30 +postage for a set of wheel nuts which is just ridiculous. looking at wheel nuts the losi nuts look like they have a courser than normal thread too, and being American I guess they are imperial threads not metric, its possible that despite being an European company Xray for some bizarre reason used imperial threads on its hubs.

Is there anyone that has both a losi and an xray both in 1/8th scale that can try swapping the wheel nuts over to see if they are the same? Losi nuts are attrctive if they fit as a set is about half the price of the xray set and the losi set actually contains a whole set of 4 and they throw in 4 hub pins too.
