Can't calibrate DX3R/DSM2 combo with Mamba Monster - 03.20.2010, 01:19 AM

Strange things happening. DX3R binds with either DSM2 or DSM1 receiver. BUT when i try to calibrate with MM it does forward ok, then reverse ok, then will eventually do neutral after a longer peiod of time than normal!
The ESC then arms, but goes nuts, just like a run-a-way AM... no way to control it !

My old DX3 binds with the DSM1, calibrates ok, then ESC arms and works well :-)

I know the DX3R is ok, because I use it on another model with similiar specs !

Anybody run into similiar problems?

well actually, i did get it to calibrate neutral but when the ESC armed it went absolutely mad!! full forward, full reverse, full forward.
might i also add that the servo was also playing up (full left, full right). but not with DSM1 operation.

even when a DSM1 receiver was used with a DSM2 transmitter.

E-revo 3.3 conversion, 249kv outrunner, 6s, MMM
the porthole from the noob world an here has been opened!! that's how i got in.

I've have similar issues with Mamba Max / Spektrum DX3S combo

Only way to get it to calibrate was to rollback the esc firmware

Castle are apprently looking at it there is an old thread discussing it here

Tried reverting to firmware V1.20... but same problem occuring... binds OK, calibration does fwd & reverse OK... but strange things still happen when calibrating the neutral position...

I have 3 different MMM systems all running off the same DX3S and had no trouble binding or calibrating them . Check too see that all the trims are at zero before you try too calibrate .

Checked all trims were zeroed at time of calibration. The problem is there ONLY with the DX3R with either the DSM1 or DSM2 rx. Problem NOT there with the DSM1 and plain DX3.

Racing a little later on this morning, so don't wanna stuff around with it anymore today. Will tinker when I get home this afternoon :-)

Seems to be an issue on radios that use a faster frame rate. Had no issues on a DX2, DX3, DX3E or DX3S but a DX3R and a KO EX-5UR all needed the ESC to go back to V1.20 firmware to calibrate.
