I've had a look around but I am struggling to find what size shaft I will need. I could mod and extend the current stock or if anyone knows compatible Cups and a dog bone I'll go that way.
Any help much appreciated.
Edit: Ok I bought some UE 6mm cups that apparently fit Maxx truck diffs....so just shafts now.
THis is the longest dogbone that I am aware of. I use it with my UE monoblock.
EDIT: but my chassis I'd also longer than stock. I believe it is slightly longer than a thunder chassis.
I'm not 100% sure yet. Mike's site does not specify the length required. Logic states 50mm longer than the stock one but Traxxas don't seem to state the length of the stock shaft and until the V-Maxx part turns up I don't intend to strip the truck.
The longest 6mm bone I can find is HPI but 112mm. I think this maybe too short. Anything longer uses 8mm and I take it that will not fit on a stock E-Maxx diff? I have 6mm UE cups on the ways.
"35mm Extension weighs only 2.6 oz, while the 50mm weighs 3.2oz (including the skid - adds under 2oz total weight) and extends the wheelbase to approximately 14.5"(35mm) or 15.25"(50mm). Compatible with any Maxx vehicle that uses stock-style skids and bulks. Requires longer rear center drive-shaft".
Yeah stock Tranny and diffs. That was my backup plan if all else fails. The UE diff cups came and they are mighty nice too! 6mm jobbies. But with no bone they will have to go to the spares box.
I take it it's not easy to adjust a 8mmx143mm HPI Savage dog bone to fit?
Thanks Mike. Can't seem to find any that size. Some reference to a OFNA shaft but no specifics. Then it's whether it would fit the E-Maxx output. I'll bodge some form of telescopic shaft. Luckily I only intend to run 4s so should hold up.
