Had a accident on friday - 07.23.2006, 01:47 PM

Hi guys it's been a while .

I had a accident on friday. I was on my way to the LHS when a lady in a mini van pulled out in front of me & i T-BONED her van. My nissan pick up was un drivable after the accident. I'm fine but the front of my truck was smashed pretty good. She tried to come over to talk to me but i told her it's better if she walked away. I was very P@##$D off as i think most people would be in this situation.

What sort of insurance coverage will there be from her? Was she even looking when she pulled out?

Metal her insurance company already called me & said they are going to pay to fix or total my truck. Just before i hit her i could see her face she was looking right at me.

That sucks. People should pay more attention when driving a 2500+ pound, high speed potential killing machine! It's good no one got really hurt!

Was she by any chance on a cell phone when this happened?

No joke or exaggeration; I was driving home from work on the highway the other day and after some observation, noticed at least 95% of the women drivers on the road were on their mobiles while only about 25% of the guys on their phones. I have avoided countless accidents from people not paying attention because they couldn't wait until they got home to talk to whoever.

Good luck!

With that many kids, maybe she wanted to die? I have four and I know the feeling, but no reason to get someone else involved.

Most people just expect you to slam on the brakes and let them out or something...I've come close to being in a few acidents myself, and every time it was a woman :p...

Or a "Q-tip" (term I use for elderly people with only the white hair visible above the steering wheel driving the oldest and heaviest vehicle possible). They are so lost that they don't even realize that they almost caused death. And when when you go by them honking your horn and making, um, "rude gestures", they look at you like you did something wrong!

Arrgg. Here I go getting road rage and I'm in my house! :035:

Just be glad you was not rolling 80.000 lbs of steel and material. It would have been even uglier. People think they stop faster than cars cause more wheels and brakes. If they only knew some days.
Glad you ok hippie. Wish you luck on truck fix.

Peace!

Glad your ok.
I think drivers licenses are given out far too freely. Some people just don't have what it takes to drive. Sorry to hear you got caught up with one of the clueless masses.

Yeah it's much easier to replace a vehicle than a body part. Glad to read that you're O.K. Hopefully you still made it to the lhs to get your parts. At least 1 truck is easy to fix and relatively cheap. Best wishes
