Run Times - 04.06.2005, 02:26 PM

I have 14 cells (GP3300) on Twin Titans & EVX. It runs for about 15 minutes, but at constant power then dies, not like others that slowly lose power - which I like about the E-Maxx.

If I was to go for a 9L with 9918 or bump upto 16 cells and have the 10L what would run time be like? Would you see the power getting worse the longer you use it or does it also just stop (not sure how to explain it).

Many thanks.

It really depends on the batteries if its gonna slowly lower the voltage or just dump all at the end.

When running NiCd's the voltage will slowly go down through the entire run, NiMh's the voltage will remain pretty constant untill the end when they will just dump like your GP's are doing, thats normal for GP's. I dont know how LiPo's work....i'm sure someone else here does.

The sudden loss of power is due to having matched packs. This is a result of the batteries and not the motor/controller. The brushless setup would act the same way with the same batteries. 16 cells on the 10L would run stronger, longer than the titan setup. If you used matched battery packs, the performance drop off would be similar as well.

Thanks for that, I didn't know my batteries were matched, and for only $80 for 14 cells for GP3300s are amazing!

Could I have some estimate run times then please? I am really intrested in how long a brushless system would run...
