Lipos for Brushless - 07.03.2005, 11:32 PM

I am sure this has been asked several times ragarding other vehicles, sorry, but i need to ask for my application. I am running 2 t4's. One has the novak 5800, the other has the mgm80 and 6s motor. Is there a good lipo pack that i can use with both? if not, what would be the best pack to match up to the mgm/6s combo? and finally, where is the best place to get some lipos?
thanks

The best lipolys to get for the 6S are the kokams 3200's. i don't know what you are looking for in speed, but a 2S runs pretty quick allready. those kokams can deliver a 64A.

The Kokam's are really the only cell you want to use in either, I think it has a built in cut off device? You need one either built in or inline to run lipo with the Novak safely. The 6s draws a lot of amps as well so don't cheap out on lipo's otherwise you risk damaging them. Word has it 2s lipo is about the same power as 7 nimh due to less voltage drop, less weight etc.

3s Lipo or a taller gearing will get you to 60.

I have a Mtroniks plasma pro motor which is fairly similar to the 540 6s, on 8 cells with steep gearing it'll pull 60mph off easy enough, on 6 cells if you gear steep it'll just about hit 50mph in my TC3. In my T3 I've only ran brushless with Masher 2K tyres which slow it down a lot because the extra weight compared to normal size tyres, but on 8 cells its still game for 50mph wheelieing all the way there. But battery life takes quite a hit (not so much with 8 cells).

As long as you get some sort of inline voltage cut off designed for 2s lipo it'll work fine.
