So, I'm safe running a 6 cell reciever pack into the reciever and my 4s pack into the ESC once I turn off the internal BEC on the ESC?

crazyjr: That post was too confusing for me to follow, lol.

fiero: Yes, that is fine. But of course, you'll reduce weight by using a UBEC on the 4s pack instead of the 6 cell receiver pack...

Yah, this is just a temporary thing untill I get a UBEC :)

How do I turn off the internal BEC on the mamba ESC, I don't see a setting in the castlelink software........ Do I just disconnect the red wire on the lead that goes from the ESC to the reciever?

Ok... somthing whack going on here...... I connect the lipo battery and I'm met with fairly large sized sparks from the connecter and the ESC wires heat up rather quickly :(

This thing worked fine on 3s last week so the ESC shouldn't be toast.........

Edit... I'm a F$%^ING idiot! polarity is backwards... god dammit! :p

Which battery should I connect first, ESC @ 14.8v or the reciever?

Well, anytime work load is taken off the ESC, it can handle more of some other load (no BEC, handle more voltage).

However, I beleive the MM is robust enough as to where it can run just about any 540 or smaller BL motor at 3S so long as the KV is in a resonable range (motor RPM ends up being the "standard" 40,000). 3S is equal to about 9 or 10 cells, so I wouldn't be using the BEC on anything about 3S/10 cell.
