Traxxas "V" -
05.23.2007, 10:50 PM
Hey, anyone else notice that huge spinning "V" on the Traxxas home page?
Could this finally be the LONG awaited E-Maxx Refresh?
Maybe "V" is for Volt!
Maybe "V" is for Very late!
Lets see if we get "passed over" again.

I wonder if it has anything to do with their boats? They have the Nitro Vee and the Villain. Have their boats been revammped yet?

That would be a serious letdown IMO. All the hype and people speculating on the Traxxas boards just to find out it's a new boat. Ack!

Yep, there has been talk about the "V" on so many different forums, and everyone is just guessing what it will be be. The most popular guesses I have seen though was a truggy, e-revo or a boat. I haven't heard too many people think it is a new e-maxx.
Anyone remember how it was before the revo came out? Was there a new symbol?

Well, it can also be perceived as an M. I'm personally hoping for a new electric monster. Something ground breaking like the Revo was to the T-Maxx.
BL Revo: CF G2R, LMT1940/7, 6S FP 30C Lipos, MMM, Hitec 5955TG
CRT .5: 7075 Ext Chassis, LMT1930/7, FP 25C 3S Lipos, MM

Its an electric revo.
Just wishful thinking on my part. I know nothing as usual..... I've been wondering about that for a few days myself. Just hadn't gotten asking if anyone knew...
I'm sure we will find out in a few days or so. Traxxas is usually has the new items just about ready to ship before anything leaks out. Total opposite of CC. It seems that they start advertizing before they even have a product designed, speced or even halfway thought through. That place is bass ackwards.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Kinda like how movie previews are out a year before the film is released. I'm sure it builds anticipation, but I respect Traxxas' marketing more than CC for this reason.

While I'd hope it's the Volt or some such E-Maxx refresh, my thinking is that it will either be some kind of Truggy as that is a huge market that Traxxas likely wants a slice of - or a V-Maxx twin cylinder Monster. Possibly even a twin cylinder four stroke.

My thought is this...why the heck would they even bother with the suspense if it were a boat? I have to think that rc boat sales versus car/truck sales is pretty small in comparison. It wouldn't make sense to have such a suspenseful release for a boat when they didn't even go to that extreme with the new Stampede, Rustler or Bandit which are extremely hot sellers.
My guess is that it's 4WD and has tires. :D

That's a good point!
It could be a mini.....like a Revo or maxx to battle the MINI LST2 & RC18MT.......
Could be the E-Revo, or a new E-Maxx ....both probably with brushless power "under the hood".

Ere leave off the boats, some of us have fun with them too. The nitro V and villain wern't great when they came out 15 years ago, they have been in need of a revamp for a very long time.
Its sad that these are some of the few boats you can find in most model shops, I guess lots of folks have been put off by poor first RTR boats, If they get the revamp right it would be very good for the long term future of model boating as a hobby.
The 2 hobbies aren't that different, for example the two in this pic share the same Motor, Battery, Ubec and RX.
