why oh why oh why? - 07.16.2005, 06:23 PM

Well after my Hacker sport OPTO died (Had C50 14-cell from Aircraft-world and a sport opto) i wanted another bl system. i just recieved my 9920/9L with UBEC. i was so excited. well that didnt last long. i wired it up, charged my batts, and started to go to work. I programed it, wired up the UBEC, and tested it. it worked for 3 seconds, then started to beep, the pitch was progressively getting higher. so i reprogramed it, and the same thing happened, but this time there was a little pop, and a lot o smoke. man am i pissed at this. I sent mike an email, and im hoping that i might be able to get my money back. i took it from my 1:1 car funds, and i wish i could put it back. just wanted to share my frusteration, and im just hoping that i wont have to deal with BK, and im hoping that there is a slim chance that i can get my $$$ back.

i think this is the first 9920 i have heard of exploding, before being driven, is this so?

Did you disable the Warrior's internal BEC before using the UBEC? I don't know if there would be a problem from this, but you never know.

sure did! the black jumper is sitting on my work bench. im terrified that i might have just lost $200, if i knew i would be getting it back some time i feel better. im just scared that BK is going to say that i wired it backwards (which i didnt, i just went over and checked it 2 more times) and charge m2 $75 for a repair.

I had a similiar situation with mine this weekened. Second warrior I've had die. This one was alittle bit worse with smoke as well lol. I'm pretty mad but its part of the rc hobby. Just wish I can stop buying brushless setups and get my e-maxx running for once lol.

Mike you have PM hehehhe

Got it! mike@rc-monster.com gets forwarded to rc-monster@frontiernet.net anyways, so either should work, though I got the message you just sent. Strange!
