Emaxx Transmission Spur Wobble - 02.25.2008, 09:35 PM

I have the Emaxx single speed transmission on a G3R chassis. Converting back to stock emaxx spur, 32pitch pinion etc.

When I tighten down the nylon nut for the slipper clutch it makes the spur gear offset. So when you spin it, you get wobbling action. Way too much for a brushless setup. When you loosen the nut, the spur somewhat "flattens out". I watched the input shaft and it doesn't wobble.

What gives? Anyone know a fix for this other than two washers, one on either side of the nut. Thanks.

That is common with the stock spring. There is a suitable replacement but can't remember what vehicle it is from.

You could try this:

I am getting ready to try it on one of my single speed trannies.

Is the spring necessary?

Try this out:

Both modifications work great. Cheaper then the real stuff.

Will that work with the stock emaxx spur? I have the strobe setup but it's limited to 9t pinion and 51t spur (that i know of). And lamo towerhobbies is out of 9t mod1 pinions.

IIRC, it will accept all sizes.

two flat washers on either side of the spring worked. Huge difference.
