Sidewinder in Bandit? -

Wanting to put a Sidewiner 4600kv in my sons Bandit XL5. Would I need to upgrade any parts (tranny etc.) and can someone recommend a gearing? Will still be running a 6 cell NiMH Battery

with a 6 cell you shouldn't need to upgrade probably as fast as an LRP system...gearing not sure...but i know i ran a lrp 1 star(9turn) setup as my first brushless system ever in a completely stock rustler which i bought at the store lol that day and it ran and ran and ran on stock gearing just fine and no tranny changes either i think you should be ok...but not 100% sure... as for gearing not sure

I checked and the VXL Setup uses the standard gearing of the Titan setup which is 26t pinion and 76t spur but the VXL is a 3500kv

I have a rustler setup for hi speed with a sidewinder 5700 and 3s lipo geared 23/86. I have not had problems with the stock drivetrain so far.

All I would change really, is swapping the idler gear to the steel one.

I'd say steel idler and the steel ringed diff gear just to be on the safe side.

The dimensions of the Sidewinder are 1.75in long, 1.25in wide, and 0.5in tall. Hope that helped.

I'm pretty sure the Sidewinder doesn't really have those gold plugs that stick up (heard from a somewhat reliable source a while back).

Yea. Mine came with wires and 4mm plugs on the end of the wires like a MM does.
