Neu vs castle vs tekno motors?

Neu vs castle vs tekno motors? - 10.23.2008, 04:58 PM

So with the Neu being the original black can/round shaft/short stiff wires. Is there a difference in the castle and tekno version? Other then there own can design they both claim hand wound neu style motors,sealed can,larger bearings,flat spot, and flexible wires. Do they use the same same bearings and magnets? Thanks

From what I understand:

The Tekno motors are actually manufactured by Neu. The CC motors are manufactured by CC in China.

All of them are hand-wound. The Tekno and CC motors have the sealed can with larger bearings, but I don't think they use the same bearings and magnets.

This is what I've gathered anyway. I hope it helps. It will be interesting to see how well the CCNeu performs compared to the other two once they get out there.

The CC motors perform very well - I would say identical to the neu's.

You could not tell the performance apart at the RCM bash...

That's really cool. Which motors did they have out there in which vehicles? I know brushlessboy16 has one and likes it in his CEN. Were there other beta testers there as well?

I'd love to hear more about them.

Thanks for the fast replies. I just picked up a tekno(cause the neu's seem to be out everywhere right now) and it seems a lot easier to turn the shaft then it did on the neu. So I was thinking maybe they used smaller magnets?

It is the same way all of the new Neu motors feel. They changed their motors to help reduce cogging. The internals are exactly the same. The only differences are the flat spot on the shaft, sealed blue can, motor connectors pre-installed (save for the 1.5D), and larger bearings (which the newest Neu's also have).

Well I ran the 1515 in my Truggy - Hyper ST Pro on 4s and the 1512 in my X1CR on 4s for the race and 5s for the long jump... Also run a 1512 in a GTP geared for 60+

Very nice! It's pretty cool that you and Ben got to be beta-testers for them. I'd love the shot myself to test the 1515, but I'll just wait til they come out and see if I can afford one at that time.

I just recieve my Neu 1512, 1.5d and he have the flat spot on the shaft.
The date of manufact. on it is 05/23/2008.
