Proline premounted truggy wheel/tires - 12.31.2008, 06:06 AM

I know this isnt necessarily a brushless specific question but that is all i drive and this is where most of the action happens on this forum so that is why i am posting here. anyway, does anyone know if the Proline pre-mounted LPR truggy wheel/tire setups come already balanced? i have tried mounting like 5 sets of LPR wheel/tires and the balancing on them sucks! the regular Maxx size truggy wheels are always perfectly balanced right after gluing. i have heard that the factory 1/8 kits that come with LPR premounts in them are way off balance too, like the jammin x2. i would really like a set of LPRs that are in balance without having to buy a balancer and weights, etc. has anyone tried the LPR premounts and how well were they balanced?

they come unbalanced. i wouldn't trust the balance if they did. i guess it depends on how "hardcore" you wanna be. %99 of people don't balance and are fine. Top racers balance. bite the bullet, make a balancer, be hardcore......

btw-%73 of statistics are made up

Proline tires need serious balancing thanks to their crappy foams. i really like holeshots and crimefighters, but spent most of the season using GRP cubic as their balance is much better. They still need balancing but not as much as proline. Balancing prolines takes ages. GRP are done in few minutes. I am waiting for premounted AKA for next season.
If you race u need to get a balancer.

i just bought a set of AKA tires. after alot of reading it sounds like they are the best out there and best balanced.

what is a good balancer that can balance 1/8 truggy tires? i bought a balancer a while back and it didnt work for 1/8. had to sell it. it was more for1/10 and airplane props.

hudy makes a very good one, similar is sold by jammin.
I use ultimate racing http://www.redrc.net/2007/10/ultimat...tire-balancer/ but with hudy setup nut.
I will be getting second one and it will be Hudy as it uses thumb nut compared to the one used by jammin.
