Stock Slash on 3s - 04.08.2009, 09:49 AM

Do you think I will fry the stock speed controller in a slash running it on 3s?

I ran 3s on the XL-5/Titan 550 12T for a little while in my 4tec conversion just to see if it worked. It armed and ran fine, but I expected to see smoke. It runs, just not sure how long. And the BEC, being linear, will heat up quite a bit more with 3s than 2s.

the titan actually runs pretty damn good on 3s with a mm or sidewinder.

take it for what its worth, but I ran one for 8 packs or so on 3s, otherwise completely stock truck. No damage, just finally put the brushless stuff in it. Def wakes it up!

Mine worked it didn't go up in smoke.. I wondered if I put a fan on it if it would help.. I think they are going to try and keep the Slash class stock so I didn't want to half to swap things back and forth between a race and when I want to bash with it..

How about if I run the XL5 with a 2S 5000mAh pack?

I tried it for a few bursts.

And the yellow (non-waterproof) was starting to heat up, but nothing dramatic.

Tower says you really shouldn't because of it's intakes, and whatnot. (Current wise)
