We actually started using a soft label and switched to a hard plastic label. I'm not sure of the reason for going with a label and not a full case, I'm sure it had to do with cost. The new style of label was used because the original softer label was a nightmare for our production people; it took a couple of minutes to put the label on one card. The case also makes it a bit bulkier than the label, so it slips into your pocket much easier.

So you did go with a harder case after all. I remember that was something I mentioned in beta testing. The soft label card I have works perfectly fine though, so it doesn't matter much to me either way. But I can see some people tossing them in their pit box amongst all their other tools...

I wouldn't call it a case, it's still a label, but it is harder plastic. I would say it is more durable than the original style, but that's the only difference. Oh and the sides are open so you can see the foam core between the label and circuit board.

Kind of. It's a bit more flexible, a little bit thinner, and has a rough surface. It's very close to the plastic covers on Five Star notebooks; I know it's a weird reference, but it's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Gotcha! Still better than just the sticker label...

Thanks Thomas, Again I'm just happy to have the field link, so I store it carefully in my transmitter case. Much too important to me to just toss it in the old tool box!

I just got my Field Link too.. I'm so happy that Castle came out with this product. It really helps me with ESC setting on the fly.

I'm wondering if Castle can fix a minor bug in the Field Link, whereby, when I'm setting Motor Type to Brushless, and then I single-click from from Motor Type to Motor Timing, the Motor Type setting (that I had just set) automatically goes to the next available setting (eg. from Brushless to Brushed Reversing).

Hope Castle will include Field Link firmware update into the Castle Link software.

Not a serious bug. I still like the Field Link very much. Thanks Castle

Email sent.

(btw.. it also happens to Motor Timing parameter after single-click)

Hope there is a fix for it.

Nevertheless, the Field Link still rocks! I love it

Can any of the Castle guys give an update on when they expect the Field Links to be sent out to people who used the coupon that was included with the Mamba Max Pro?

The coupon included with the Max Pro was for a Castle Link, not a Field Link (although you can upgrade for a fee). Give sales a call for an update on shipping. 913-390-6939 or email sales@castlecreations.com

Thanks Frost!

Frost,

I just tried recreating this issue with a Sidewinder and a Mamba Max and was unable to recreate the problem. I was able to program it to brushless, tap the button once, and it went straight to timing. I scrolled back through and it kept it on brushless. I double checked on the Castle Link and it showed brushless as well.

I want to try to recreate this problem so we can show it to the engineers. Can you please fill in a few blanks so I can try to recreate the problem?

What controller are you trying to program?
What version of software is on the controller?
What version of software do you have on the computer?
Have you ever connected the Field Programmer to the computer?

Please let me know and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of this.
