Oh boy now that would be bad if that gets out. With some of the nice guys we have around here like Haorld, James, Squee. I know Hippie was just trying to poke fun at me. I am too old to let that bother me though. That does not mean that I will not bite back just like an old Chiwawa with rabies.

Don't think that hippie is a spring chicken himself...he's probably closer to your age than you think.

Chager?? - 03.16.2010, 12:39 AM

I was thinking about just using one of those Energizer slow 4 to 8 hour chargers. I have both the 15 mniute charger and the 4 hour charger here in the shop. The print on the plug is just too dammed small for me to read the ratings on it though.

Well now you have to put something pleasant in there for him. Maybe his cells in a ziplock bag wrapped in dog poo, inside another ziplock. See what you started now? How about something that jumps out of the box upon opening that can scare the begeeezzus out of him. Or a recording that just keeps repeating "help, let me out of here" that would drive the post office nuts.

I was trying to make something a bit more portable for trips. Also, this will negate the need for me to whip out all my R/C charging stuff when the WII batteries die.

The trouble with any timed charger is that it can overcharge/undercharge the batteries. A true constant current with either delta-peak or thermal cutoff is really the best. So, that is what I designed.

Yea but I want to remain a member on here. I have to keep my swabbie talk under control. Every once in a while my wife just looks at me and asks "what did you just say". Of course I just shrug and walk away like I did not hear her. I was a full timer when sailors were still doing drugs and getting drunk every second of the day. I had to learn to hold my own with the best of them. Not to mention I grew up in the projects near Phili, and was one of only three white kids living there at the time. So yes I can come up with much much more if I need to. I pulled some pretty dirty tricks on a few in my day as a means of getting back at them for trying to get at me. We had a thing called greasing back then, and some of the biggest toughest guys tried to get me, but they always under estimated my abilities. Still I try never to cross the line of damaging anyones personal property or messing with anyones food. that is just rude.

I am a retired Chief myself. ENC(SW) Engineman Chief (Surface Warfare). Retired in May/1997. I served in Holy Loch Scotland twice, Hawaii, and Orlando, Fl. I had alot of fun and learned more than most. When I reported onboard my first Command at the age of 18 I was handed the Alpha engine room as the leading petty officer in charge. You learned fast or you were pushed aside. 20+ years of constant opportunities for the taking. You are forced to stand up and be counted or you get eaten alive. I believe in the compulsary service idea myself. I think every young person should have that kind of encouragement to help them figure out what they want to do with their lives. You grow up fast.

Its true. The older you get the faster time goes by.

I have been to the base in orlando many times. I use to live in winter springs. You might have something with the mandatory service idea . But on the other hand . Do you really want someone there that does'nt want to be there ?.

Are you kidding me. I was a boot camp drill instructor for nearly 6 years at the Orlando Naval Training Center(it closed in 1997). When we picked up our companies on the first day of training it was all about getting them haircuts, teaching them how to march to the barraks and the chow hall. On the second day trust me nobody wanted to be there anymore, but they were too scared to run. That was the best job I have ever had in my life. I wasn't there just to collect a paycheck. For me it was about changing peoples lives for the better, and helping them to figure out what to do with their lives. I had a house in Lake Mary for 15 years. After I retired from the Navy I ended up working as a "Ride and Show", rollercoaster tech for 6 years at Universal Studios "Islands of Adventure".
