What are you gonna use to power this beast?
And where do you plan on putting your batts.?

i plan to get an ezrun 80A. its not really a racer, just gonna be a fun truck, so i didnt see the need to go real exotic with a tekin or something like that.

The batteries will be attached to the outside of the vertical chassis plates, either via twin force battery trays, which have, or getting some trays from Mike.
the motor mount is still up in the air. i plan to use a mount from Mike, but that might not fit. i might need to ask if Mike or someone else can mill me a vertical mount for the motor.

check it out guys,
cut some CF tonight, with the hacksaw blade. yeah, thats right, just holding a blade, no handle attached.
i used a piece aluminum stock as a straight edge clamped along each edge cut. i had each side bolted together so that each side would at least share the same mistakes :)
had to take it apart before the last few cuts for some test fitting.
what do you think?

i was at least wearing a glove, and had the vacuum in the other hand sucking up all the nasty airborne particulates.

gotta start smoothing the edges with a file and putting a nice thick coat of CA around them to keep them clean!

got the shocks mounted. at least for testing things out. i am going to have to drill a bunch of different holes at some point.

that center plate is just holding it together now. it will really be there just a bit lower and actually mounted to the top of the center diff. the ESC will go on top of this.
anyone know height in MM of mikes mounts?

the back end of the CF is not fully fledged out yet, mostly because i need to decide which bumper to mount and if im going to put fake spares on the back as well.

i cut some out of the red CF i have too. its 3.5mm thick instead of 3mm. so a bit tougher, it also hads less gaps in the laminated layers compared to the black. so it is just beefier all around.
i moved the overall center of gravity more to the front of the chassis on this shape to allow for a more forward mounted shock position.
i also cut a center plate out of the red CF, so its pretty bling when its together,

went to th LHS yesterday and ordered some parts so i should have those middle of next week. stay tuned to see a roller!!

hey guys redesigned the rear lower links in my head again. too bad i spent bout $20 on parts, good thing is i can use those parts for the upper links.

Hesse machining already has these links, i would just need them shortened a bit maybe beefed up where the ball ends screw in since i use 5mm set screws there.

what do you think?

the battery trays and rear shocks were moved 12" forward to get them outta the screen shot for now.







i started drilling holes for the shock. the top line to the right was a guess. way off.
the top line on the left is just junk. it sucks. but it will work. I started paying more attention on the 2nd two lines. i kinda buggered up that first one.,






brand new shark fin for the center upper mount!!

lots of cool holes for different mounting positions. i plan to paint this flat black.



and i also did better on the set of black plates for the mounting holes for the shocks...

got the plates mounted temporarily. until my new chassis material comes that is.
also got a revo axle for the rear since that one may need to expand and contract. i still need to get a motor mount from rcmonster. and i can start mocking up that new chassis.









i had to mount the wheels, and put shocks on. still not close to being done, but i wanted to just see if it would look right.
