need paypal help - 10.27.2010, 01:37 PM

A member on here sent me some money through paypal to ship some diff gears i had laying around, but i cant for the life of me find his address in the transaction details. Did paypal change things around again and i just cant find it? Or do they only show the address with ebay transactions? I dont want him to think i am blowing him off because its been like 5 days since he sent me the money.

You usually get there addy in a email sent from PP, saying you have money. But starting a thread here is a good way to get him to contact you.

Maybe they changed the system...? The last time I got money with PP there was a section labeled "Shipping Information" in the Email called "You've got money!". It had the payer's full shipping address.

Do you have any way to contact them other than Email? Have you Emailed them to ask for their address?

If he "gifted" you the money to save fee's the address will not show. The address is usually right there in the details and it is usually sent in the confirmation email as well.

+1

Check to see if you had paypal fees deducted... If not then that's the reason.

As a side note concerning the "gifting" of payments (whether or not this happened in this instance) I would suggest not ever doing that. I often see sellers asking for payment to be sent this way, but the buyer has no protection or recourse if there are problems with the transaction. People may complain about Paypal fees, but IMO the 3% is worth it for the convenience and protection. I think people forget Paypal is providing a service, and think they are just taking some of the money for no reason at all.

Probably a good idea, unless you know the person well. I know alot of the members here and would have no issues sending them payment via gift option.

I always ask for it as a gift. If they are willing to do so not my fault. I am an honest person and always follow through with a deal. If they say no I am fine with that too. These days saving a little here and there never hurts.
