FMA Direct Lipo Questions - 03.06.2006, 02:44 AM

Well im looking at LiPo batteries and the ones from FMA direct seem awsome. I have some questions:
1. With the Scorpion 6400 pack can i run 2 of them in series for my ESC?
2. The battery provides 5-6v (i think) to the receiver, if i run 2 batteries how would this work.
3. How are you supposed to set the charge current without a display telling you exactly what it is??

1. Yes, you can do series. FMA says that you can "daisy-chain" the receiver LVC wires together.
2. The batteries don't provide directly to the receiver unless you use a regulator like a UBEC. With a UBEC, you would connect it to the output of both packs (or on the controller end).
3. Aparrently, charge current is not an issue with the Scorpion packs. They can be charged at 3C (3 times their capacity) without any problems. So, it doesn't matter how you set the charge current.

If I'm not mistaken, the Scorpian packs can only be charged on the Scorpian charger?

It is probably something to do with the built in balancer. But if not going to use the charger why get them. Get the kokam.

They can be charged by other chargers with the power wires but you are limited to 1c because you are not using the balance thecnology that the scorpion provides

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

You could do greater than 1C, but at that point constant voltage monitoring/cell balancing would be a must. BTW, the Scorpion charge connector can be used as taps.
