May build truggy looking for suggestions - 02.03.2011, 11:14 PM

Hi everyone. I am not new to rc's but it has been a while since I had a truggy. I am building this mainly for the back yard and sometimes at the local track.

If I was going to pick out a truggy now I would get the D8T and get the tekno V4 conversion, a cc 1518/MMM and 5s.

Or the serpent truggy with mikes conversion for the buggy if you like that. With cc1520/MMM/6s slipperetial if it fits.....

I have been racing a FT RC8T converted with the RC-Monster full chassis conversion for two years. I have a whole slew of parts that I haven't needed! It's been a rock solid truck. I have worn out one center cvd, snapped a rear axle, and broke one shock in two years. That's 13 weeks of racing each year plus practice and bashing in the off season. Most durable RC I have ever had!!!

mugen mbx5t's can be found very cheap these days and the rcmonster motor mount, servo mount, and battery tray make it a nice cheaper alternative to the expensive newer kits. I have an mbx5te Tekno converted and it's really a tough truck, I know a guy that has the Rcmonster converted mbx5t and he's loving it, too! I run a castle/neu 1520 1600kv motor, MMM esc, 7955tg steer servo, and 5s and 6s lipo...it's a shredder.
