To get the EXT pede, or rustler FLM setup? Which arms? - 03.16.2006, 07:02 PM

I have decided to sell my BL revo in favor of redoing my brushless rustler. The one thing I cant decide is what chassis to run... I am a big fan of trucks that have sharp steering (generally goes hand in hand with a lower COG = rustler) but then again the rustler chassis requires me to custom cut a CF upper tray or I would be stuck with the stock upper chassis (just wouldnt look right!).

For those of you running the stampede chassis, how does it handle? I have owned MANY stampedes and rustlers in the past and the rustlers always handled better due to the lower COG and less body roll. I generally like jumping stampedes more as they seem to handle air time better and obviously work better for bashing.

I plan to get the FULL FLM setup whichever way I go. Another thing I am contemplating is to go with the standard arms or the ext. arms. How wide is the truck with the ext arms? I dont know what tires I will be running yet, but I did rig up adapters so that I can run 1/8 buggy tires (have a lot of them) so im thinking with the longer chassis it wouldnt hurt to be a little bit wider as well to help make the truck really stable.

Thanks in advance for any help/opinions

You should check out the pics of my EXT FLM Pede here:
http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2491

It's running the standard width FLM arms and Maximizer adapters with RPM Stablemaxx wheels and Panther Komodo tires. The tires are right about 4.5" tall to put things in perspective.

I have the Full FLM rusty and it does look silly with the stock upper plate. FLM is working on a upper plate. Hopefully it will be out soon.

this is what i did for a quick fix out of silver CF, but i do plan on designing and fabricating another one:

it definately is wide with the ext arms.

here is another variation i have fabbed using the arms; the wheels are Proline maxx dish offset wheels with komodo dragon tires:

Nice looking setups guys! Hmm I had my mind all made up on the pede chassis just because I can get the extended version (figured with the wider arms and wider tires I dont want it to be wider than it is long!) But not seeing that nice rustler chassis it makes me want that again!

I wonder how much they would charge to cust an EXT version of the rustler chassis. Wheelies are fun and all but not ALL the time!
