Multiple posts in "Everyone make one post only" - 05.16.2011, 08:04 AM

To all those who did, are planning to or are wondering about doing multiple posts in my other 'Roll Call' thread.......

I was thinking of calling down a curse on you....or....kicking you off my christmas card list....or....sicking the monster onto you

But I have decide to do absolutely nothing.. so there!!

PS I don't think there is anything I could actually do, but you will stand out as the "Bad Egg" and the other good boys in the playground will probably not let you play in the good games for a while

Also I could not post this in the other thread or I would be a multiple offender and I want to be able to play.

What is the point of a single post in a thread? You cannot ask a question (and reply to the answer) or have a discussion. Seems silly, even compared to most of the stuff that goes on around here.

And I hope you used the copy and paste function to make ^, nitro...

I think the idea was to just see how many active, posting members there actually are by getting a single 'hello' from them in one thread. Seems like a couple dozen members are reading & posting quite often vs the ~14k registered members.

I've noticed the same thing over at BYT- I run a monthly photo contest over there and only ~50 or so members vote on the winner vs ~25k registered members.

Our English friend sort of has it. Just a roll call - I was curious and that semed the easiest way to do it.

My single post. - 05.17.2011, 07:40 AM

Here is my single post. I think any account that has not seen action in the last twelve months should be closed/deleted/errased. I would be willing to bet that there are hundreds of people who signed up here long ago and for whatever reason have not come back for quite some time. Maintaining dead accounts takes up storage space and wastes resources. Just my 2 cents.

I have to disagree on this one.

I had an "extended leave" while life in general just got chaotic and busy. I was glad to return and find familiar faces and have great hope to see others return as well. There are guys with accounts here that have been absent for some time that may one day grace us with their return. Some of these guys literally helped bring the hobby to where it is now. It would be a shame to delete the accounts as though they had no value because of inactivity...

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

Sorry I am not trying to offend anyone. Holding up data storage space while others would like to join and use those resources has nothing to do with trying to make anyone feel unappreciated. I get that some people just want to take a break from going into a forum, but if you leave for more than 12 months, and later decide to come back then its time to setup a new account. Its not a matter of disrespect or anything personal. Its a matter of simple economics. Keeping this forum up and running costs money. As things fill up and resources become used up, and expansion comes into play. That costs money. Pretty unreal to expect any business to spend money for anyone just to hold a dead account open while people go out and try to find themselves. Thats just unfair to the man paying for this site. Just an opinion.

Guess that blows the single post premise.
