5mm replacement rotor for 1415 motor - 05.20.2011, 09:30 PM

Okay, I see somebody has already received one of these to replace a snapped stock 1/8" shaft. Is there a timetable for offering these as a rebuild or upgrade kit? And an expected price?

I believe the Neu 14 and 15 series share same rotor? Not sure if that also applies to Castle versions though.

I spoke to Thomas about these a couple weeks ago and at that time he said they will be availible very soon and price will be near the $50-60.00 area if I remember correctly. I asked why so high (seemed pricey coinsidering the 1500 series rebuild kits) and he explained that the cost of materials have skyrocketed lately due to the Neodymium being so costly to mine. China is where a majority of this material is mined and the price is set there, He relayed some other info but my memory is kinda hazy. I'm sure he or Patrick will chime in with solid facts and prices shortly.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

A recent thread in another forum.
A 1415's shaft snapped and the owner was (IIRC) given a choice of a new rotor or wait longer for the 5mm version. The latter has already arrived and now (more) new 5mm bore, 32P pinions are needed to diversify the gearing choices.

I never asked if there was a fee for the replacement or an upcharge.
