rx8 with castle motor??

can the rx8 be combined wit a cc motor?or tekin esc only uses tekin motors?

It will run a castle motor fine on sensorless mode

since i got the mamba max pro dilemna i found a used rx8 and bought it..i saw that theres a wire connected between the motor and esc.aside from the 3 wires..whats that for?do all bl motors have that now?man electric is so complicated!i just want my buggy to run and its like i opened a can of worms heheh

That is a sensor wire connection. That can only be used with sensored motors. All of the CC motors are sensorless.

Tekin motors are sensored.

oh ok so i dont need it then..
@nick do you use BEC ?i hope not..heres what im gonna be having on the rc8be:
rx8 wit 1900kv CC.
batteries are 14.8v 4s 5000mah steering servo is the hitec 333oz. do i need something else ?im looking at the pix and there 5 poles on the esc..3 for the wires and the 2 in between it says battery?

What (esc to lipo)connector type have you selected?

What type is on your lipo? What type is on your charger?

I do not run at BEC at this time.

I'm running a Tekin 1900kv combo in my Ten-T and a Tekin 2000kv combo in my D8T, both without a BEC.

If it were me I would sell that castle motor and buy a similar Tekin motor so I could utalize the sensored mode. Once I ran a Tekin esc/motor combo I never wanted to run a sensorless setup again.

1900kv or 2050kv for a buggy
2000kv for a truggy on 4s.
