yeah it looks it will be too short, ill check to make sure when I get some more hex screws to mount #2 and big tires maybe it wont look bad. Plan B is I have a sheet of 4mm aluminum my neighbor gave me and I can cut 2 long pieces and make a mickey mouse long monoblock. I dog these new bright bodies, this one has 6 working lights ontop on the bar and headlights, but oddly no tail lights.
Are the losi claws 40 series ? It says 85mm wheel will fit. Iffin so they may be the one to try 1st, cheap on ebay
Yeah cool!! Yeah with some big tires maybe you will not notice that is too short. I think two monoblocks are cool put together I know Jerry has done it.
yes I have. You have to do some material removal on one of them in order to get them to mate properly, but it is easy to do with a Dremel tool. Once you create a tight fit the combination is pretty solid. Then you have to get your hands on a custom dog bone to cover the extra length. I cannot remember the measurements off the top of my head but that bad boy is long. I had mine made up by RCAlloys before they abandon us. The overall length of the vehicle makes it look almost like a 1/5 scale. Finding Monoblocks these days is getting harder and harder to accomplish, but Robin stated that he has a few unfinished sitting around in his shop waiting to get them done for sale. I think he said all they required was some holes and threads installed, but who knows when he might have time for that. He is knee deep in making parts for those monster 1:1 pickup trucks now. He's got to make some money some how. Have fun with the project man.
Thanks Jerry, If you find the dog bone length on an old note pad pet me know, no hurry as I have jumped back into this hobby full swing and have 400 things on my plate. I appreciate Robin hooking me up, was a friday and im sure he had better things to do. I owe him one for sure in my eyes. Hows it going in the slovakia ? Pics !! And pics of your boys ride Harold !!
Always glad to help out if I can. I have to take a look into the shop for that measurement when I get a chance. We just got home from work and we are hosting some Yale University "Alley Cats" for a few days while they perform around Prague. They are the schools A Capella singers, and they are on a four week tour traveling about Europe doing concerts in over 20 countries. Very cool adventure for them and for us. Our kids are thrilled to have two of the group staying with us. On top of that President Clinton is in town, and we are trying to put something together for this group to sing for him since he is a Yale alumni.
Prague in general is pretty cool. We are enjoying our tour here very much. One of our son's traveled to Romania a few weeks ago as part of the International School of Pragues robotics team for an international competition. Our other son jut returned from Istanbul as the winner of an international vollyball tournament. Living here is just awsome. Life is good.
