programming the mgm compro 80a??? -

I'm back stateside now and I finally got the chance to hook up my mgm 80 and fiego 8s to my xxx-t. as many of you know, the instructions suck. i have never programmed a controller before and needless to say, i have never ran a BL setup. So can anyone break it down for me, barney style please? it doesnt seem to go much faster than my old setup with a reedy quad mag on 6 cells, and i am running the BL with 7. kinda dissappointed so far. i dont even know if i have the motor leads connected to the controller correctly. there is no A B or C on the controller and it doesnt really look at all like the one in the instructions. they talk about deflection and parameters??? Like i said, barney style. thanks

I feel your pain!!! Here is how someone explained it to me.
Pressed full throttle.
Turned ESC on.
Held full throttle until the ESC beeped 3 times.
Pushed full reverse until the ESC beeped once.
Moved to neutral until the ESC beeped 2 times.
Pushed full reverse once (set paramater 1 to "CAR Mode"), moved to neutral.
Full throttle, moved to neutral.
Turned ESC off.
Now that is basic car mode setup. If you want faster accelleration the do this. Instead of turning off the controller do this after the final step.
-full throttle (unless you want to adjust the strength of the brakes)
-hit reverse 1-8 times (and let it do its succession of 1 beep, then dual beeps after each time you hit reverse), with 1 giving the fastest acceleration, 8 giving the slowest, with 4 giving you the same acceleration you have now. If you want the fastest acceleration, only hit reverse once.
-Hit full throttle to accept this setting.
You can turn it off now.
i tried that for any hour and it didnt work. it doesnt beep after a minute, i timed it. if i turn it on with the throttle in neutral, and then pull the throttle, it beeps once and then the wheels turn. it also wants to randomly go into reverse by itself. i have no idea but this seems almost like it is too difficult. maybe i have the motor leads hooked up incorrectly? what goes where from the mgm 80a to the feigao 8s? do i need the motor not to be hooked up when i am programming the controller? thanks for the help
I thought you hold full throttle then switch on to get into programming mode, that's what the instructions say anyway.
Yes you want the motor connected to the controller, any order will do,if it turns the wrong way just swap over any two wires.

I think that is what he did for a full minute. I think what he is saying is after that didn't work he tried it the other way that he mentioned.
Oh,i see, sorry.Well then the next thing to do is check radio, esc may not be seeing full throttle.Check channel is not reversed,EPA is 100% and trim is at zero. Hopefully it's not a fault with the esc where it can't be programed.
so i'm an idiot, the tx throttle was back wards! wow i feel like a jack@ss! havent programmed it yet but i ran it as is and it flies in reverse but not in forward??? i'll get back to ya thanks
tim
ok, i think i programmed it. but still, it goes way faster in reverse than it does in forward. MUCH faster! so i tried reversing the throttle on the transmitter again and switching back the two motor leads and still, faster in reverse than in forwarrds...is that still a programming issue?
