I love my Gmaxx....
the HV's usually come with the gearing recommendations in the box with the units, you may want to check???

Yep, you're quite right. I just got the box down from the loft and had a check- forgot what it says but I'll have another look and follow that as a guide. I forget that the emaxx drive line has a higher overall ratio than the TXT-1, hence why the 11/72 sounded a bit low to me, but then it has fewer reductions in the diff- its all groovy. Havent received a reply to my email that I sent 2coolrc so they will be getting another stern one, other wise they'll be in trouble...

Glad to hear! The little things are what I miss at times too! LOL...that gearing guide should be very useful. Also, if you are still running hot, you can change the gearing and use a fan on the esc. Mine unfortunately ran very hot all the time. I could only do two good speed passes and the esc would thermal, but others here have had good success with the HV, so good luck to you. Personally, I would sell the HV and get a sensorless system, but that is jsut me....the HV is nice due to the fact that it's a drop in system.....but I'm sure when you get the hang of the HV you may want more, I did anyway.:027:

I already do use a fan on the esc, but it doesnt really do an awful lot, so I may construct something myself abit better- that said the esc never used to get *that* hot in the TXT-1 setup, so hopefully it will be okay. I do like the HVmaxx system, it is nice and simple to just drop in on many trucks, though I wont be changing it for something better for a while- I've spent all my "disposable income" on the gmaxx, and there are more parts to order yet.

I agree, the HV is a nice starting point and will do what you need it too just fine. If you want a better fan maybe, get a 5V 40mm. They push really good air! And they can be had pretty cheap too, look for them in like computer stores online...a few months back, I bought two for 4.00 bucks on sale. Can't remember where though. I know they are not on sale now, but do some research and you will be golden....

Hi again, its been exactly a month since I placed my order and I still havent received anything yet, even though it was ment to have been posted via ems (5-7 days shipping time). Can you please verify when the order was despatched as I never actually got a confirmation email to say it had been posted to me. Any help would be very welcome, N Ward.

We are waiting on one part to come in. It will be here today and be shipped right out
When I ordered it there were no out of stock signs, otherwise I wouldnt have bothered and bought the parts elsewhere. This kinda thing makes me mad. Fair enough sometimes the last part gets sold and the stock status doesnt get updated immediately, but I looked at the site for a few days before placing the order- more than enough time to make the adjustment. Grrrr.... guess I'll just have to "enhance my calm" like the demolition man ( love that film ).

To me, this is poor. I would send another email tomorrow to verify that it shipped.
This is why Mike is a WIN WIN. Because he would at least tell you that it has not come in yet....after a month for sure.

I dunno about another email, maybe a horse's head or small explosive device. Unfortunately these things happen fro time to time- normally I have no real problems with ordering stuff online (overseas or otherwise). My luck seems to have run out though.... hehehe. Nevermind.

It is horrible service. I sent them another email asking politely but firmly what the heck was going on as I didnt know (or them) whether my package had been shipped; didnt get any responce to that but I did get the 'order shipped' email yesterday afternoon- only taken them a month to pull their finger out....
This is what puts me off ordering from a company; we all have a bad experience from time to time (rc4wd- hopeless, repeatedly), but first impressions are vital to get return customers, but I wont be going anywhere near them again. Thankfully I only have to order my suspension from GorillaMaxx (trust them totally) and some dogbones & flm towers from here (mike is the best), so then I will be sorted.

As long as it finally comes in, no worries.

Well, it did arrive (eventually).... peep this:

And with any luck the FLM towers will be here tomorrow or tuesday.

If you're wandering about the two black boxes- they house two 9v batteries wired in series to power the two 12v 40mm fans which are mounted above & below the esc. I couldnt find any other way of powering them, nor could I find any 5v 40mm fans so that will have to do- I will fab up a mount and attach them over the spare servo mounting slot. I also redid the wiring for the final time- everything cabled tied down onto the chassis and out of harms way. I used the original esc fan to cool the motor by attaching it to the 2 sheatsinks which came with the 30mm fans (broke one- go figure); the rx supplies the juice for that now. Finally, you will notice my lovely modified motor mount- I wanted a single motor mount so I removed it, traced around the gearbox, cut and filed it into shape, then stripped the anodising for good measure; I like it alot. Cheers.
