Zp I wonder if 1mm wall is enough? Then again going to a motor with a 10mm shaft will bump up the weight and size significantly. Just thinking about 2mm would be better for a hollow shaft.
That's not a bad looking motor. A Much cheaper alternative. When you go cheaper, you make compromises though.

Hmmm.......the hollow shaft idea?

Take a look at the counter rotating double motor setups:

I'm sure we could get a hollow hardened shaft for one of these applications. Tried, tested and true, I'm sure.
