Personally speaking I like the look of the Tekno battery and esc mounts etc, but coupled with the RCM motor mount so that you can still have motor braking & reverse. A feigao 8xl on 4s would be great, but you will need a ubec such as the CC item that Mike sells too. Locking the tranny into 2nd gear is easy- diagrams can be had in BrianG's sig (BL conversions- scroll down abit). There are a few hard cased lipos available as has been mentioned, but if the tekno battery tray is used, it is unlikely that you will managed to damage the lipos- newer cells are much less volatile these days. In the future you could easilt go to a neu 1515 1y for cooler running and more power, or perhaps sell of the current setup in favour of the MMM, which should only be about $300 for esc, ubec and motor! Cant say fairer than that really....
