Need some advice guys - 02.26.2008, 07:39 PM

I plan to run the RC Pro Ga state series this year (Time and money allowing) I got my idea for the stadium truck class set up (want to run electric against the smokers). the racing will be two or three 5 minute qualifiers and a 30 minute Amain. My stadium truck will be an associated t4 with a MM 4600 and 8000 maxamps 2s packs, it should be good for the Amain time.

My need is for MT, I need a setup for the 30 minute A main. My current setup is a Neu 1515/2.5d (1700kv)with maxx/gorilla tranny 20/51 gearing and HB buggy diffs, in a G2R revo, its awsome on 5s but its a bit slow on 4s. running 2s packs in series how would efficiency suffer/improve using 22 or 24 pinion in place of the 20? Would going to a 1515/1y (2200kv) or a 1512/2.5 (2000kv) be better alternatives? Forgot to add, temps on 4s 5000mah maxamps lipo's after 15 minutes: batteries 100* esc 98* and motor 117*. this was on a mid 60's low 70's day

On a similar note, I want to experiment with an idea. I have a setup i love running a 5s lipo with a 1200xl lehner basic in a GT conversion. I want to run a similar setup with a lehner basic XL 2400 or 2800 geared up and running a 2s lipo. I think with proper gearing it would be more efficient that the current setups (ie the novaks mambamaxes and such) I would be running it on a Quark 80 esc. The good thing is that i can play with up to 4s on the same setup, for insane speeds.

thanks for any advice on these questions

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
