my Revo has been very durable for the most part, I would replace any stock plastic part with an RPM part (they are made from a composite nylon material that is much stronger than the plastic) escpecially the bearing carriers after a short period of time there will be slop in the carrier. Stay away from aluminum unless it will be a shelf queen...lol....I bought my revo off of ebay as a roller and I have replaced all of the parts except for the shocks and chassis
