Well, I ditch my original plan of using my thunder chassis for this build. Instead, I bought a used Gmaxx chassis.
Racerx suspension for the rear;  UE racerx shocks:  Assembled front and rear suspension:  Rear with MMM:  Gmaxx with original chassis in foreground. I made the bottom plate from 3.2mm 6061T6 aluminum.  Neuenergy 5S1P 5000maH:
