Well, I gently screw them into the motor by hand to feel when they hit the windings inside, Then you can measure the remaining thread length not screwed into motor to see if they are longer then your motor mount is thick, if so they are too long.

I like the threads to stick out about half motor mount thickness or a little less.

Then i Chop the screw with a dermal cutoff wheel about two or three threads short of touching the windings of the mounted motor.

I think the Nue motors have like 5mm of threads.
