2 new V3s, only one survived... - 11.22.2008, 10:23 PM

Well i got josh's v3 for the st-rr build and i did the update, set it up, got to track charge the lipo, all was perfect, soo smooth and just absolutely VIOLENT acceleration with the 1515 2.5d and mike new 5s2p 5000 lipo.

but it only lasted for 10 minutes.... and when the remote cahnged hands to brad he made it to the corner (abotu 10 feet) and it died silently, i thought it was the switch but after trying to get it to come back on it just wasnt working, so we even opened the case (very gently, didnt use any damn screw drivers or anything) to check the switch wires and the lead to the rx, after not finding anything wrong i cut the switch off and elminated it (soldered wires together), still nothing, not even a light, it doesnt get any lights or anything when plugging it into the castlelink either..... only thing i can find is that when we had the case open we plugged in the battery and the BEC coil got VERY hot imediately, was up to 150 within 3 secs (it was only 50 degrees airtemp).

Brads V3 he got also today and it ran flawlessly in his 808 on 5s with a 1512 2.5d. They are both extremely smooth and worked awesome just josh's died first pack and i think brad ran his 3 packs without any issues.

How soon can we get the V3 replacement from castle this one will be leaving here monday morning piority mail but we'd like to have one asap its pretty rough explaining to a nitro guy that he jsut dropped alot of money letting me convert his truck and then only get to drive it for 8 minutes, he was grinning ear to ear the whole time he had the remote but it was a big dissappointment to him and me also.
