Waterproof MMM -
12.31.2009, 06:33 PM
Well my MMM will no longer be warrantied! I took the plunge and opened it up and coated everything except the heat sink and the caps with liquid electric tape. I wasn't planning on putting a BL system in my E-Maxx until spring but the Titans are on their way out and I want to run in the snow. I had my MMM sitting in my truggy unused and a 36-70-1600 Medusa sitting there unused and a can of liquid tape sitting on the workbench. I made sure to keep the heat sink alone except next to the caps as I wanted to fully coat the board around the caps so I had to get a little on the HS next to the caps. Threw it all in my E-Maxx and just went out and ran 2 sets of packs back to back with no problems. I'm not going for a lot of speed with this setup, only geared for about 30 on 4s. I also ran a set of 7 cell nimh packs through it without issues. It's about 38-39*F out right now but everything stayed very cool, motor got the warmest at about 100*F. It had tons more power than stock yet not much more speed, exactly what I wanted! Also this setup is much lighter! I will keep track of how this continues to run and let you guys know if I have any issues with the MMM
