BL input needed - 02.20.2006, 11:51 PM

Hi
Me and a friend of mine are working on doing a BL savage kit, if we come up with a good setup it will be offered to the rc public, most might know my friend as Twisted-Toys. He is trying to put together a kit with his extended tvps or probaly without tvps I'm sure but since he is doing all the fab work I am doing the research part for him. I have read several threads on here so far and got a few things answered but still have some questions I need clarification on.
First- if you stick with the stock tranny and want to use the mechanical brake what all is involved? I read about this mystery "shaft" but seems it can't be bought or find any pics of it. Or is it better to use the esc brakes? I was told you can fry the esc doing this cause you have to use a Y harness?
Second- Is their anything that would be better for a center tranny? THe mad force is kool but parts are kinda hard to come by. Also what pinions are you using with the stock savage spur? I have seen "mod 1" mentioned but I have no clue what that means.
Third- with the stock tranny what is the final gear ratio with the recommended setup?
Thats about it for for the moment, thanks for any input and sorry for any repeat questions in advance but for the quality stuff Casey can produce it should be worth the time for us that want a nice kit and can't fab stuff on our own. :027:
