I had a Lightning 2 Pro buggy that I used as a basis for my carbon rallygame car, I currently run the kyosho plastic spurs on the centre diff which is filled with 100,000 weight oil to stiffen it up.

I would like to run a spool (what HB call a spur gear shaft) instead of the center diff, mainly to save weight, but also to reduce maintenance, my question is, are the 44t &46t Kyosho plastic spurs direct replacements for the 50t gear on the lightning gt/gtx spool?

Damn, steel, I was hoping it was alloy, is the steel solid or hollow? (anyone know what it weighs? either bare or with a plastic spur gear.) if its solid I may not save much weight over the center diff and will probably try to make a carbon fibre spool to fit the Kyosho plastic spurs as I had planned to before I heard these were available, I'm not sure how carbon diff cup connections will hold up, if they fail this will be a good alternative assuming the Kyosho plastic spurs fit.

Hot Bodies Lightning 2 Pro carbon, Mega 22/30/2, MMM, 4s3-5Ah.
Tamiya F201 carbon, Mamba 7700, MM, 2s A123 2.3ah.
Xray XT8, 1518, MMM, 4s5Ah.
Lots of boats.
