I started on getting my Lightning built up now that I got all my little black pieces back from the anodizing shop I sent them to. I have been working on it all weekend and got a lot done. Going to work on the shocks and suspension this week.
Building up the diffs :

Shimming was not too bad at all, once I got the rear all completed and assembled it was not good so I had to take that one back apart and remove a shim from the pinion shaft. Then it smoothed it right out.

All done and skids on:

Had to mess with the G1 transmission a bunch. I don't know if it was the anodizing that added the tolerance to the bearing seat on the one side of the case or what but every time I would bolt it together it would bind up and not roll freely. I replaced all the bearings and had to grind the input gear a bit to free it up. Took forever to get it done right but I finally got it. Mounted the F/R up and the transmission.

More coming this week.
